Welcome to the official registration page for the South Dakota Basic Economic Development Course (SDBEDC) – 2026!
- This Basic Economic Development Course specifically serves to strengthen and elevate all those engaged (directly and indirectly) in economic development and committed to positive, sustainable growth in our communities.
- This Course is designed for economic development professionals, board members, and partners as well as elected officials and local community business leaders. This Course includes valuable information on various economic development topics including workforce development, business retention and expansion, small business and entrepreneurship development. South Dakota Basic Economic Development Course (SDBEDC) - 2026 is hosted by Black Hills State University and will be held at Black Hills State University-Rapid City (BHSU-RC; near Exit 61) from September 28 - October 1, 2026. Please note that this Course is offered in-person only; therefore, Zoom and Livestream will not be available. The Tuition for this Course is $850 per person. Refunds are available up to 14 days prior to the start of the course.
- This economic development training is a collaborative effort between Black Hills State University - Rapid City (BHSU-RC) and the South Dakota Basic Economic Development Course - 2026 sponsors.
- This is an IEDC-accredited Basic Economic Course. All SDBEDC - BHSU-IEDC Basic Economic Development Course - 2026 registrants who participate in the full 4-day Course will be awarded a certificate from IEDC.
