This Basic Economic Development Course is specifically serves to strengthen and elevate all those engaged (directly and indirectly) in economic development and committed to positive, sustainable growth in our communities.

This Course is designed for economic development professionals, board members, and partners as well as elected officials and local community business leaders. This Course includes valuable information on various economic development topics including workforce development, business retention and expansion, small business and entrepreneurship development. Fuel the Growth - 2023 is hosted by Black Hills State University and will be held at Black Hills State University-Rapid City (BHSU-RC; near Exit 61) from September 12-14, 2023. Please note that this Course is offered in-person only; therefore, Zoom and Livestream will not be available. The Tuition for this Course is $395 per person.

This economic development training is a collaborative effort between Black Hills State University (BHSU) and the Fuel the Growth – 2023 sponsors.

This is not an IEDC-accredited Basic Economic Course and does not provide IEDC continuing education credit. All Fuel the Growth - 2023 registrants who participate in the full 2.5-day Course will be awarded a non-credit certificate from Black Hills State University.
