The S-STEM Scholars Program provides scholarships and a series of academic, community-building, and co-curricular support activities intended to equip students to succeed as future researchers and leaders in STEM fields. The program targets students who have a financial need and who have a passion for or accomplishments in STEM areas.
To participate in this competitive program, you need to pursue a major in one of the STEM fields at Black Hills State University (Biology, Chemistry, Physical Science, Environmental Physical Science, or Mathematics). You must also have demonstrated financial need and have a strong academic record. If you are selected as a S-STEM Scholar, you will receive up to $10,000 in annual scholarship, which can be stacked on top of any other financial aid you receive from BHSU. To be considered for admission into the S-STEM Scholars Program at BHSU, we require the following completed applications:
- Application to attend Black Hills State University [link]
- Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) [link]
- This S-STEM Scholarship application [link]
- Teacher recommendation [link]
All three of these applications must be complete and submitted before you can be considered for the S-STEM scholarship at BHSU.
